Welcome (back) to my blog dear reader! I am so glad you are here. 😄 I hope you enjoy your time here.

Happy Easter! I took some time off of social media and blogging for Lent and now I am back to posting again! So today’s post is going to be a bit of a life update and an outline of how I see myself progression both here on the blog and online in general.

So, how did my Lent go, you might be asking? I am going to be perfectly honest here, dear reader. It did not go according to plan. In fact, on paper it looks like I failed completely. I hardly managed to do half of the things that I said I would. But, even still, mentally and spiritually I feel stronger. While I didn’t do as much spiritual reading as I wanted to get done, I did a lot of thinking and praying. I was fortunate enough to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration several times for prayer and it was extremely helpful to me. I plan to continue this devotion every week or as often as work allows because it is so beautiful and so fruitful.

The things I sacrificed went well. I’ve noticed during this past Lenten season that I am better at taking things away from my life rather than adding them into it. So, moving forward when I want to start a new habit I have a new plan to try and make it easier on myself. I will take something out and gradually add in the new better habit to take the place of the old one. For example, I would love to pray a daily rosary but I wasn’t sure what time of the day to do it. Then I realized that I already have the time to pray it but something always tends to distract me. And that thing is the radio on my way to work. My commute is almost perfectly timed so that I could complete a rosary within that time frame. But since I listen to twenty minutes of radio every morning I always forget. Instead of turning on my music in the morning I will be praying on my way to work instead. Now I have a set time to say at least 5 rosaries a week, as one of the first things I do in the morning.

Since I am back to posting due to Lent being over and Easter Sunday happening just a few days ago, I do want to talk a bit about this glorious holiday. First of all, I got to witness three people join the Catholic Church this past Saturday. Two of them were baptized. The third had been baptized already and was able to fully join the Church with the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist. I was/am so excited for them and would like to extend a warm and fond congratulations and welcome home to everyone who joined the Catholic Church this past weekend. I love y’all! 😄

Also, another awesome thing about Easter is that for Catholics it’s not just a day. It’s a season. Currently we are in the Octave of Easter or the eight days immediately after Easter Sunday. But! Easter lasts even longer! Fifty days total! And for me this year, Easter Sunday was my birthday! I’m officially 26. (Which reminds me, gotta update my about me page. Haha) The Joy of Easter was so tangible to me this year. I am so grateful for this season of the year and I feel rejuvenated to take on the rest of the year.

Now, about the blog. I took some time while I was away to think about it. And I’ve come up with a few things. As you can see from the time I uploaded this, dear reader, I am moving my upload day to Wednesday because it gives me more time to polish what I want to post. This is also why I am considering posting every other week sometimes. I’d rather post something I am proud of and feel is a good topic to talk about rather than just throw something together to meet a deadline. So I will let y’all know via my social media if I won’t be posting for that week. Otherwise, it will be Wednesday afternoon. I also would love to hear from you, dear reader. What social media platform were you on when you heard about this post? Do you prefer Twitter or Instagram? I’d love to hear your opinions. I also plan on doing more Instagram stories and tweets to update y’all about more things in my life and potential blog topics. I am also going to be posting things in a series, with specific themes and anything you would like to see, dear reader. Let’s talk about it! My social links are at the bottom of the page.

Wow, this was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. Thank you for reading! I wish you and yours a blessed Easter Season, success in your endeavors and a wonderful week. And may you always find the beauty in the crazy. Love ya! ☀️💙
